CLOSEOUTS WINTER CLASSES IN TUCSON

We design lightweight, comfortable road tandems, which we think serve up the most fun on two wheels that a bike can offer. Tandems enhance your cycling life in so many ways. They are social machines that are especially enjoyable for couples who would normally ride at different speeds. Tandems bring you together to share adventure and exercise. There is nothing like the excitement of a ride together exploring new routes and sights.
About Ravello Tandem-Specific Geometry
We think tandems need to be designed for stability as well as speed. For instance, a road tandem shouldn't have the same head angle as a single bike. (We've noticed that most road tandem builders use a 73-degree head angle.) Think about the analogy of pushing a loaded wheelbarrel uphill. If you hold the handles up high, you will find that it is hard to steer it straight. As you lower the handles, it will steer in a straighter line. We've found that a tandem with a 73 degree head angle is a little too twitchy on a steep climb. You want the bike to easily track straight instead of having to concentrate on steering the bike in a straight line. Ravello tandems have a 71.5 degree head angle. That's only a degree and a half less, but we have experienced the difference on steep climbs between a tandem with a 73-degree head angle, and one with a shallower angle. Of course, we can build a tandem to your specifications. If you prefer a steeper head angle, it's yours.
